Mike grew up in the greater New Haven, Connecticut area and served many years in the U.S. Army throughout the world before returning to New York City.
He brings mind, body and spirit together in one practice through a moving meditation linking breath to the movement of the physical asana poses or the Vinyasa flows. He focuses on the breath and focal points to calm the mind and ensures proper alignment not only in the exterior body but from within. Mike creates a safe space to practice and encourages fellow yogis to bring their practice off the mat.
Mike completed his 200 Hour Teacher Training at Pure Yoga NYC and immediately completed an advanced 300 Hour Teacher Training at Pure Yoga NYC in Meditation with Yogi Charu, and in Ashtanga and in a Mentorship with Scott Harig. He has also studied with many senior Ashtanga teachers of Manju Jois, Saraswati Jois, David Williams, Kino McGregor and he has traveled to Ubud Yoga Center in Bali to complete a 50 Hour Ashtanga Immersion with Laruga Glasser.
Mike maintains a daily personal meditation practice and morning Ashtanga Yoga practice in various KPJYAI Mysore style studios as well as a Vinyasa Yoga practice at various Yoga studios. Mike currently teaches Ashtanga Yoga at Joy is my Armor and Vinyasa Yoga at NYSC.
